Thanks. I see the government applied all kinds of coercion to make people vote in the Russian parliamentary elections. And my home city went as far as sending out warnings of criminal responsibility for not voting. I believe the city misinformed people about the consequence of not going to the poll stations. It is not an offence to skip voting in Russia, to my knowledge.

I believe supporting Bukovsky for president by attending the candidate registration meeting in Moscow December 16 would really make a difference. Reading his book And the Wind Returns (To Build a Castle in English publication), I found that the repressive character of Russian penitentiary system did not change much since 1960s.

Самый прикол - насколько завуалированно всё это подано: на грани законности. Крючкотворство и иезуитство...

A voter asked her poll station bureaucrat to put a special note into the registry saying that she refuses to participate because she considers the election campaign illegitimate.

The committee members were astonished with her behaviour and attempted to block her way out of the poll station. Thanks to her husband, she managed to get out of the station with her ballot paper. She attached a photo with an expletive she wrote over the ballot at home.

Pictures made by a volunteer observer at the poll stations in Dolgoprudny may have a value as an evidence of falsifications.

Cheers to those who came to the candidate registration meeting in Moscow last Sunday. The feeling of sympathy with so many people is really warm!

I can't help but think that Vogons do give up under the slightest pressure.
